 > North Aegean
North Aegean

The climate is characterized as Mediterranean, with the most rainfall falling mainly in spring and autumn and with an expressed draught in summer. However, depending upon the local conditions, there is a big range of climatic variation with more or less Mediterranean expression, affecting the type and distribution of the vegetation.

Multi-coloured houses, fishing boats, and nets spread out in the old harbour. Modern houses and busy shops in the new harbour are opposite the castle. Large old stone houses decorate the plain with the lush gardens and orange groves.

Chios, the fifth largest island in Greece but still small enough to offer you a very special kind of hospitality and culture; where the green of the trees and the aquamarine of the sea are within kissing distance. Here the lush valleys embrace the pretty towns redolent with mastic from the countless chewing gum trees. You will also discover medieval villages, interesting architecture, ancient monuments and an abundance of churches and monasteries.

Lesvos is the third largest Greek island and is referred to as the Jewel of the North Aegean. It offers olive groves that go on forever, thick pine forests, sandy beaches, monasteries, pretty traditional houses and old mansions. Not to be missed is the ‘’Petrified Forest’’ and the Natural History Museum. Levos has been immortalized by the poetry of Sappho and Alcaeus, both of whom were born here.

Samos, the easternmost island of the Aegean, is framed by bunches of Samian grapes, vine leaves and vineyards. It is packed with lush areas such as pinewoods, olive groves and vineyards. Samos also has countless sandy beaches, crystal clear waters, traditional settlements, old churches and monasteries, making it an ideal resort for your vacations.

The islands here offer many outdoor activities, such as paragliding, sailing, swimming, sunbathing and long walks.

As always, there is never a shortage of accommodations and eating establishments on any of these beautiful islands. We want to make it your home away from home and provide you with the best of the best in these matters, so that you’ll want for nothing while you’re here.

Join us today and have a holiday you will always remember in a place you will always long to return to - the islands of the NE Aegean Sea.

Lesvos Island

Mytilini owes its configuration to volcanic activity in the distant past. It is the third largest Greek island and one of the most important as far history and a varied landscape are concerned. The famous petrified forest is located at Sigri, where over a million years ago the trunks were covered with volcanic ash.

In the capital, neoclassic mansions co-exist with multistory apartment building. The fortress built by Francesco Gattelusio in 1373 is one of the largest and  best preserved in Greece.
