Apolakia is one of the picturesque island vacation villages surrounding Lindos. It is 92 kilometers away from the City of Rhodes and is inhabited by approximately 600 people round-the-year. The village’s name comes from the way in which it is built, looking like being inside a ditch (“lakos” in Greek). The visitor has the chance to see the old windmills, the traditional houses with the roofs made of tiles as well as the monasteries of the area. You will also be able to admire the beautiful lake of Apolakia with its barrier. The beach of the village bearing the same name is ideal for swimming, providing deep blue water and shadowy trees.
